On 8th Feb 2024, I had an opportunity to discuss ‘the failure causes of insulators and arresters on the distribution side and preventive measures’ at the EE office, BESCOM Nelmangala Division.
The meeting was highly interactive with me presenting the technical aspects on one side and BESCOM Engineers putting forward their practical challenges on the other.
It is essential for the DISCOMs, who directly deal with the consumers, to put forth their system issues to the technical community and work together to arrive at a solution. I believe the common goal of the utility, experts and manufacturers should be, to provide uninterrupted, sustainable and quality power to the consumers.
A Special thanks to Er. Dhanajaya, Executive Engineer, BESCOM Division, Nelamagala for organising such technical meetings. It is a great initiative of getting ground experience of utility engineers and research experience of experts together at one point. The deliberations of the group will surely bring positive results. Hope the initiative continues and develops into a resourceful platform for the society.
